It’s hard to believe that the blog has been live for TWO years!

In that time, we’ve had 1,490 views to our page! That’s an increase from last year! A total win in our book as we share our experiences, advice, and views on the role of TTRPG.

Here are the top three of our most viewed articles (excluding interviews) from the last 12 months.

  1. “What Makes a Murder Hobo” by Maryanne Cullinan
D&D 5e: What Makes a Murder Hobo? (Examining the Mechanics of D&D 5e and Its Effects on Player Behavior) – RPGCounterPoint
Here, Maryanne talks a bit about the psychology behind why players choose to become “murder hobos” within the TTRPG game world.
  2. “We’re All Fine Here” also by Maryanne Cullinan (this is a segment from her new book, Adventures in Education and Learning with TTRPG, which you can check out here: https://www.tabletopedu.org/
We’re All Fine Here – A Way to Think About the Complexity of RPGs Using Fine’s Frame Theory – RPGCounterPoint
In this article, Maryanne discusses the findings of Gary Alan Fine, an American Sociologist who studied the subculture of the gaming world to understand the workings of a player’s mind.
  3. “A Colorful Idea” by Joe Gaylord
    A Colorful Idea – RPGCounterPoint
In this piece, Joe talks about an alternate way to categorize and identify player morality using colors rather than the traditional alignment system, as presented in most TTRPG systems.

In the last year, we’ve interviewed dozens of content creators, which you can find HERE.

We are incredibly grateful to our team of writers and editors who have made this blog a fun and informative place for those looking to expand their TTRPG horizons.

Here’s to another year! Thanks for joining us on the ride!

Game on!
