Join us as we chat with the creator behind Mystic Waffle and his upcoming world-building project.
Jared: First off tell us a little about yourself?
MW: I am TheMysticWaffle! I grew up in small town Kansas, some passions I have are singing, D&D, acting, gaming, miniature painting, and drawing. I used to be a shy keep to self person in middle/high-school, but found the courage to try and do things like acting and such to improve how lonely I felt and such! So I did theater, sang in front of large crowds, and I found I like doing things with people or for communities.
J: When and how did you get started in tabletop games?
MW: In middle school I talked about how I wanted to make my own game, and my dad introduced be to the D&D starter set. I loved being a player but he only did the intro, because he didn’t have the time/ energy to make it a huge thing. So I tried it myself with my friends! (Very much in a everyone does cool things, waste time. Kid like game but still!) The passion for making stories never left.
J: What made you want to make content/stream specifically for tabletop games?
MW: Because im in a small town I don’t have a lot of people that would come over, and no one else really was interested in my ideas, so I started just trying to get them on paper and then share them! Hoping to inspire other people with something they can use and make their own in their own games!
J: Next tell us about the beginning of Mystic Waffle?
MW: The mystic waffle began in a game that was heavily player ran pvp themed, me and my family all made a “guild” in it called the MysticWaffle and played together, always as a group, and our guild would help new players as a guide, and try to fend off higher level players so they didn’t rage quit!
J: Where did the name “Mystic Waffle“ come from?

MW: The way I made the name “Mystic Waffle” wasn’t exactly special? I just took two things I liked and fused them together to make it our own good sounding and unique name. “Mystic” came from my mom’s D&D character when we played our intro, she wanted her own class called mystic and I thought it was unique and cool! (Turns out to actually be a thing in the game though now lol just wasn’t written in the starter guide) and “Waffle” from…well…waffles i just like waffles.
J: What can people expect coming into the website/social medias etc?
MW: Right now, im still in the beta learning the ropes phase, not very good equipment and such, so I have one or two clips from streams of gaming that I found funny, and that’s it…It should However be • YouTube be a “Here’s a straightforward video on this subject” •TikTok be a collection of funny moments •Twitch be a stream on gaming or current projects •Discord be a chat with me! Or discuss the content more
J: What do you see as the future of Mystic Waffle? Goals?
MW: I hope to grow a community with this! Have people suggest new ideas during world building streams that we can elaborate on, share moments in games, and suggestions on content they would like explored or elaborated more on. I’d very much like to be interactive with the viewers and make them a part of the experience
J: What projects do you have coming up?
MW: The current project is “Mythrune” , a world that was built by me and streamers watching! I have artists helping me bring it to life now, one shots in world are happening soon to determine who the party will be, and then the campaign will be recorded and turned into a book of what they did, along with a campaign book for how you yourself could run the same story! I also want to make a website (WAY later and not even started to think or work on yet) where you can add and connect worlds that you have built to other people’s!
J: Anything else you would like to add?
MW: If you are interested and want to be apart of this community you can, Check out my socials
